It's very predictable and has enough power for the highway. It's one of the more narrow cruiser style bikes and is definitely small enough to split with. It handles well at low speed too. Some people complain the stock seat can be a little tough for longer rides, but its never been an issue for me, and it's an easy enough upgrade if it bugs you. The Honda Rebel 500 might be the best starter bike for any beginner rider as it is easy to ride and looks uniquely good.
